Thousands of Slovaks took to the streets in protest against Prime Minister Robert Fico, accusing him of authoritarian tendencies and aligning with Russia.
In Kosice, Slovakia’s second-largest city, Defense Minister Robert Kalinak faced accusations of “capitulation” to Russia as demonstrators demanded the government’s resignation.
The protest was organized by the civic initiative Mier Ukrajine (Peace for Ukraine), which advocates for military aid to Ukraine. Meanwhile, Slovakia continues to assist Ukraine with electricity following Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.
