Latvian and Polish KFOR soldiers, assigned to the Regional Command-East, have conducted training on crowd control.

The training took place at the camp in Novosella.

“During the exercise, Polish soldiers simulated a crowd of rioters escalating tensions against Latvian soldiers. The training offered realistic scenarios of disturbances in a controlled environment, allowing both countries to learn from each other,” stated KFOR’s announcement.

According to KFOR, these efforts are part of their daily mission to ensure a safe environment for all communities living in Kosovo.

“KFOR continues to implement its mandate, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 from 1999, to contribute to a secure and safe environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo, as well as to guarantee freedom of movement at all times and impartially.”

“KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and EULEX (the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo) in their respective roles as security responders,” the statement concludes.
