In a communication with his followers on social media, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that for the first time, a British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, will pay an official visit to Albania. This visit will take place ahead of the European Political Community Summit, which will be held on May 16 in Tirana. Rama described this visit as highly significant, emphasizing that it is the first time a British Prime Minister will visit Albania for an official purpose.

“After a month, the British Prime Minister will come for his first official visit. No British Prime Minister has ever come for an official visit. Only Tony Blair came once for a bilateral visit to Kukës,” Rama said.

Rama also announced that French President Emmanuel Macron will return to Albania for an official visit for the second time during the same period, when the European Political Community Summit will take place.

“This is the first time that a French President will come back to Albania. This is an important moment for strengthening relations with France,” Rama emphasized.

Rama also spoke about the significance of the upcoming European Political Community Summit to be held in Tirana in May. “This is a historic opportunity for Albania and a sign of strengthening ties with our international partners,” he added.

Furthermore, Rama criticized the opposition, saying, “Things could be better, but who is here who could do them better? The swamp bird or the new marshy ones who make the same promises, the same language, the same methods, hate and hatred. There is none.”

Prime Minister Rama also commented on the upcoming elections on May 11, expressing his belief that the Socialist Party will triumph. When asked if he expected to win 77 seats, he responded optimistically: “We don’t know, it could be even more. I’ll write it down there at the local in Kuç, where last time I left the result,” the Prime Minister added. Rama believes that the PS is very strong and has great support from the people. “We work day and night, we are with the people, we communicate,” he further stated.

Regarding the economy and wages, Rama emphasized that there has been a significant increase in wages in Albania during his mandate. “The average wage has doubled. In 2024, the average wage was 1000 euros,” said Rama.

In conclusion, Rama highlighted that Albania has made significant progress. “Albania is becoming a stronger, more respected country, and an important actor in international politics,” he concluded.
