Deputy Slavko Simić Suspected of Attacking Journalists in Leposaviq

Slavko Simić, a member of the Kosovo Assembly, was interviewed as a suspect at the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Mitrovica.

According to the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Mitrovica, Simić, a deputy from the Serbian List, is suspected of committing the criminal offense “Participation in a crowd committing a criminal offense and hooliganism,” under Article 404, paragraph 2, related to paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

He is suspected of having ordered the attack on journalists during protests against the visit of former Minister Ekrem Kastrati (E.K.) to Leposaviq in 2023.

Prosecutor’s Office Statement:

The statement from the Prosecutor’s Office reads: “The suspect S.S. is alleged to have given orders to attack journalists during the protests on June 16, 2023, against the visit of former Minister Ekrem Kastrati in Leposaviq, and by doing so, he committed a criminal offense, for which he was interviewed at the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Mitrovica.”

This statement follows a public announcement detailing that Simić was interviewed regarding his alleged involvement in the incident.
