The European Union’s envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Peter Sorensen, is making an unannounced visit to Prishtina as part of efforts to advance the dialogue process between the two countries.
During his stay in the Kosovan capital, Sorensen is expected to meet with Deputy Prime Minister and chief negotiator for Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi.
The meeting comes at a sensitive time for Kosovo’s internal politics, which is facing an institutional deadlock following the recent elections.
Despite winning the elections, the Vetëvendosje Movement has not yet secured the necessary votes to elect the speaker of parliament, which has delayed the formation of new institutions.
