The Commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Enrico Barduani, hosted the EU Special Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Peter Sorensen, today in Prishtina.

Sorensen visited the “Film City” camp in the capital, accompanied by the EU Ambassador to Kosovo, Aivo Orav.

Sorensen and Barduani exchanged views on the latest developments regarding the security situation across the region.

“The KFOR Commander emphasized KFOR’s efforts to ensure a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo and in support of the EU-facilitated dialogue between Prishtina and Belgrade, where KFOR and the EU operate in continuous coordination,” read a statement from KFOR.

General Barduani reiterated KFOR’s unwavering commitment to supporting all efforts by the international community for long-term security throughout Kosovo and regional stability.

“KFOR continues to implement its mandate—based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999—to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all communities living in Kosovo and to ensure freedom of movement, at all times and in an impartial manner.

KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the EU Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), in their respective roles as security responders,” the statement concluded.
