President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, is currently on an official visit to Malaysia, where she was welcomed today with high state honors by Prime Minister Anwar bin Ibrahim at the “Perdana Putra” Government Complex in Putrajaya.
During the meeting, President Osmani expressed gratitude to the Malaysian Prime Minister for his country’s continued support for Kosovo, highlighting Malaysia as one of the first countries to recognize Kosovo’s independence in 2008.
“President Osmani praised Malaysia’s contribution during key phases of Kosovo’s state-building process, from the post-war period to the present day. She thanked Prime Minister Anwar for his ongoing support in strengthening Kosovo’s international standing. As a gesture of appreciation for Malaysia’s recognition of Kosovo’s independence, its support in state-building, and his commitment to advancing bilateral ties, President Osmani awarded Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim with the Order of Independence,” the Presidency stated.
The meeting included discussions on opportunities to deepen cooperation in areas such as the economy, trade, innovation, and tourism.
President Osmani proposed organizing a Kosovo–Malaysia Economic Forum and extended an official invitation to Prime Minister Anwar to visit Kosovo.
