The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) reaffirmed its unwavering position regarding the candidacy of Vetëvendosje’s Albulena Haxhiu for Speaker of the Assembly.

Speaking at a press conference today, PDK MP Ferat Shala stated that the party’s stance remains unchanged and that there has been “no movement” on their decision not to support Haxhiu.

“Chairman Krasniqi has made his position clear after every session, and there’s been no shift. We are closely monitoring the situation and will act within the framework guaranteed to us by the Constitution,” Shala said.

When asked about Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s letter to the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Shala responded briefly: “I don’t comment on letters addressed to other parties — that’s not our concern.”

The MP emphasized that PDK has already clearly explained its reasons for opposing Haxhiu and sees no justification for altering that stance.

“We’ve been consistent and transparent in our reasons for not supporting her. There is no change and I don’t believe there will be one from our party’s leadership,” he concluded.

These remarks come as the political deadlock continues, with the Assembly failing to convene successfully for the eleventh time. The next session is scheduled for tomorrow.
