Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama began his morning with a message of gratitude, as the counting of diaspora votes nears completion following the May 11 elections, which his party won.
In a video posted on Facebook, Rama thanked Albanian voters from Greece, Italy, America, and all across Europe and the world for contributing to what he described as a meaningful and powerful victory.
“Good morning, and with a very special THANK YOU to the Albanians from Greece, Italy, America, and every corner of Europe and the world who joined the victory train, making it even more meaningful—not just in numbers, but above all in the powerful message of the overwhelming majority of them. This message will make us even more committed to Albania 2030 in the EU. I wish you all a great day,” wrote Rama.
The participation of the diaspora was a key part of the Socialist Party’s electoral strategy, and the high turnout among overseas voters has been hailed by the government as a symbol of unity and trust.
