The Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted a working dinner last night with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, who is visiting Prishtina.
Welcoming Kallas to Kosovo, Kurti expressed gratitude for the EU’s ongoing support and emphasized the importance of strengthening Kosovo–EU relations, advancing the European reform agenda, and implementing the EU Growth Plan.
Kurti highlighted that Kosovo has made significant progress in domestic reforms, aligning its foreign policy with that of the EU. He cited EU country reports as proof of this advancement. He also thanked Kallas for the EU’s initial steps to lift restrictive measures on Kosovo and urged for their complete removal, reiterating Kosovo’s rightful claim to EU candidate status as the most advanced democracy in the Western Balkans.
The dinner also included discussions on Kosovo’s post-election developments and efforts to form the new institutions of the ninth legislature.

Regarding the EU-mediated dialogue with Serbia, Kurti stressed the need for full implementation of the Basic Agreement and its annex, while reiterating that Serbia must be held accountable for the terrorist and paramilitary attack in Banjska. He pointed to Milan Radoičić, the alleged orchestrator, who now faces a 160-page indictment by Kosovo’s Prosecution Office, and called for his extradition to Kosovo.
Kurti also raised concerns about the systematic and ongoing human rights violations against Albanians in Presheva, Medvegja, and Bujanoc, urging the EU to take concrete action to protect their rights.
