Kosovo’s delegation took part in the official opening ceremony of the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games, held at the Erasmo Iacovone Stadium in Taranto, Italy.
Kosovo is represented by 163 athletes, including 87 men and 76 women, who will compete across 21 sports during the Games.
For the first time, Kosovo is also participating in four team sports: football, handball, volleyball and basketball.
The opening ceremony officially marked the start of the competition, which will run through September 3.
Following the parade, Kosovo’s athletes will begin their respective competitions, aiming to achieve strong results across the disciplines in which they are participating.
