The constitutive session of the Kosovo Assembly has failed for the 20th consecutive time. Once again, opposition parties have rejected the secret ballot voting procedure.

At the outset, parliamentary groups refused to propose members for the formation of a commission to oversee a secret ballot vote.

As in previous sessions, the chair of the constitutive session, Avni Dehari, called for the creation of a commission to monitor the secret voting process for the Speaker of the Assembly.

The proposal did not receive the required number of votes, and the session was adjourned to continue on May 25 at 11:00 AM.

In total, 53 MPs voted in favor, with none against and no abstentions.
