The European Union High Representative, Kaja Kallas, during an unexpected visit to northern Kosovo, emphasized the importance of being on the ground to understand the complex situation in the region. She highlighted that there are many different narratives from all parties and it is necessary to hear them all, writes Rks News.

“We see many different narratives, and it is necessary to witness firsthand what is happening on the ground and what people are saying,” Kallas told local media.

She added that this direct contact with the citizens and institutions of the region is key to better understanding the reality.

“I think this is extremely important information for me to better understand the situation because we see one side saying one thing and the other side saying something else,” she declared.

Kallas also visited the court in the north, highlighting its operation and the expectation for the return of Serbian judges.

“The court is functional and we are waiting for the Serbian judges to return,” she said.

Among other activities, Kallas met with representatives of schools and international forces in the north, including KFOR and the EULEX mission. She concluded with hope for a prosperous and peaceful future for all residents of Kosovo.

“And then we can see what more we can do to ensure the future is prosperous, safe, and peaceful for everyone in Kosovo,” said Kallas.
