Acting Deputy Prime Minister from the Bosniak community, Emilija Rexhepi, declared ahead of the 28th attempt to constitute the Assembly of Kosovo that Vetëvendosje will not back down from its nomination of Albulena Haxhiu for Speaker of the Assembly.
“There is no change, and we will keep voting until she [Albulena Haxhiu] becomes Speaker,” Rexhepi told reporters briefly.
Her statement reaffirms Vetëvendosje’s firm stance, despite growing calls from opposition parties like PDK and LDK to propose a more acceptable candidate in order to break the institutional deadlock.
