The current Mayor of Peja, Gazmend Muhaxheri, has officially announced his candidacy for a fourth term in the upcoming municipal elections scheduled for October 12, Rks News reports.
Muhaxheri stated that the leadership of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has decided that all nine incumbent mayors from the party will run for re-election.
“Yes, as the LDK leadership, we have decided that our nine current mayors will run again. Soon, the rest of the candidates will be added for the October 12 race,” Muhaxheri said in an interview with RTK.
He also mentioned that the candidate lists must be finalized by August 13, and that LDK is working to have the full list ready by next week.
Municipal elections across Kosovo are scheduled to take place on October 12, 2025.
