Albania’s Ambassador to Israel, Meri Kumbe, has confirmed that five Albanian citizens currently in Israel for work or tourism have requested evacuation assistance due to the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, Rks News reports.

In an interview with A2 CNN, Ambassador Kumbe described the situation as extremely serious, noting that life in Israeli cities is paralyzed, with residents strictly following shelter-in-place orders.
“It’s hard enough to hear the bombings, let alone live through them. We are strictly following all rules,” she said.

She added that schools and offices are closed, people are working from safe locations, and streets are empty. Only pharmacies and supermarkets remain open. For emergencies, citizens receive SMS alerts from Israeli authorities.

The ambassador confirmed that the Albanian embassy is in constant contact with its nationals in Israel. While the Albanian resident community has not expressed interest in leaving, the five stranded citizens have pleaded: “Please, take us home.”
However, evacuation is complicated as airports and sea routes remain closed.
“Our top priority is keeping them safe,” said Kumbe.

She noted that the past 24 hours have been relatively calmer, with only three alarms sounding in the early morning hours.
