Montenegrin police have seized a BMW X1 vehicle that was reported as wanted by Interpol Belgium. The car was intercepted at the Sukobin – Muriqan border crossing, located between Montenegro and Albania.
According to authorities, the vehicle was being driven by a Kosovar citizen identified by the initials L.B. During a control conducted last night by officers from the Border Police Station in Ulcinj, it was confirmed that the car had an active international search warrant.
“In cooperation with officers from the Security Department in Ulcinj and in coordination with Interpol in Podgorica, the active search was confirmed. By order of the prosecutor from the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Ulcinj, the vehicle has been seized,” stated the Montenegrin Police announcement.
However, no information has been provided regarding actions taken against the Kosovar driver. Authorities have not clarified whether she was detained or released at the scene. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
