A protest planned for today by the “Small Businesses” Association has been postponed indefinitely. The protest was initially called to address alleged discrimination in the use of public spaces and what the association described as selective and unfair actions by the Municipality of Prishtina’s Inspectorate against small businesses.

Sadudin Hasani, a representative of the “Small Businesses” Association, stated that the postponement was due to ongoing communication with the Municipality of Prishtina, as they await a resolution to their concerns. However, Hasani emphasized that any delays would have significant consequences for these small businesses, which are heavily reliant on refrigeration for their operations.

“The Municipality is reviewing the documents we submitted. We are waiting for the Municipality to do its best,” Hasani said. “We thought our request had been rejected for a second time, but it turns out the request is still being considered. Time is hurting us because our small businesses depend on refrigerators. We had planned a protest, even a strike, but we are giving a chance to negotiations.”
