Kosovo Police are actively searching for Serbian politician Aleksandar Arsenijević following the discovery of a weapons arsenal on his properties in Zveçan on June 22, 2025. Arsenijević, however, claims he is unaware of being sought by law enforcement.
Veton Elshani, Deputy Director of the North Mitrovica Regional Directorate, told KALLXO.com today that police intelligence suggests Arsenijević is currently outside Kosovo. “One person is of interest for us to interview, that person is Arsenijević,” Elshani stated.
Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, reiterated on Monday that Arsenijević will be arrested as soon as he enters Kosovo. “He is not in Kosovo, the prosecution bodies are searching for him, he is wanted. The moment he comes to the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, he will be stopped and arrested,” Sveçla told the media.
Sveçla further confirmed that three of Arsenijević’s properties were raided during yesterday’s operation. “According to the information provided to me, three of his and his family’s properties were raided yesterday. Among other things, equipment for cryptocurrencies, a bulletproof vest, and some other minor items were found, which indicates that he has been involved in crime for a long time,” Sveçla concluded.
Arsenijević Denies Knowledge, Claims Innocence
Meanwhile, Aleksandar Arsenijević told KALLXO.com that he was not aware he was being sought by law enforcement. “I can only guess, but now I’m hearing it from you. I am currently with my family, on a trip to visit my relatives,” Arsenijević said.
He expressed willingness to cooperate upon his return, provided the process is fair. “I have nothing to hide. I can even request an FBI expertise, an investigation with all relevant factors. I can also undergo a polygraph because I am sure that what happened there has nothing to do with me,” Arsenijević stated, adding, “I wouldn’t be so foolish as to do something like that to myself.”
Arsenijević also previously mentioned that the location where the weapons were found is not his permanent residence.
Minister Sveçla had announced yesterday that heavy armament, including hand grenades, rocket launchers (zollas), weapons, and ammunition, were discovered in an object he attributed to Arsenijević in Vallaq, Zveçan, during the June 22 raid. Units from the EU Rule of Law Mission (EULEX) monitored the search, and the relevant prosecutor was present at the scene. The Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica is handling the case.
