Peja Police Issue Public Appeal on Fire Safety Amid High Temperatures

With rising temperatures and based on past experiences, fires continue to pose serious threats and can cause severe consequences wherever they occur.

The Kosovo Police – Regional Directorate of Peja have issued a public appeal, urging all citizens to exercise maximum caution and to avoid lighting fires under any circumstances. Citizens are also encouraged to report any suspicious individuals who may be involved in setting fires.

“The Kosovo Police will take legal action against anyone who, in any way, endangers the lives or property of citizens, whether intentionally or due to negligence,” the statement reads.

The appeal emphasizes specific risk factors, particularly:

Use of matches,

Cigarettes,

Outdoor grilling,

Any form of open flames in nature.

Authorities are calling on all residents of the Peja region to take these warnings seriously to prevent wildfires and ensure public safety.
