Kosovo Customs Seizes Over €64,000 Worth of Contraband Phones

Kosovo Customs has confiscated a significant quantity of smuggled mobile phones, valued at over €64,000, during a detailed inspection of a business premises in Pristina. The operation followed a tip-off received from a citizen via the open lines for reporting smuggling and other criminal offenses.

The Operation and Seized Goods

After preliminary verifications, Customs units conducted a thorough search of the premises and accompanying areas. During the inspection, a safe was discovered in an additional annex (basement), containing the following devices:

  • 49 iPhone 16 Pro Max
  • 1 iPhone 16 Pro
  • 12 iPhone 15 Pro
  • 9 Samsung A36 5G
  • 6 Samsung A56
  • 2 Samsung A26

All these phones were found without accompanying documentation regarding their origin and are suspected of having been illegally imported into the Republic of Kosovo. The total market value of these devices is approximately €64,340.00.


Legal Actions and Public Appeal

“Kosovo Customs has undertaken the relevant legal actions against the entity in question, seizing the goods and initiating investigative procedures for misdemeanor or criminal offense, depending on further findings,” stated Kosovo Customs in its announcement. “Kosovo Customs thanks citizens for their cooperation and encourages everyone to continue reporting suspicious cases through the open lines, contributing to the fight against smuggling and organized crime.”
