Former PDK MP Hajdar Beqa has paid tribute to the fallen fighters of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) from the village of Morinë in Gjakova, on the 27th anniversary of their heroic death.

In a message posted on social media, Beqa emphasized the historical and symbolic significance of these fighters, describing them as some of the most emblematic members of the KLA. He acknowledged their sacrifice as a heavy loss for the liberation movement, but also as a powerful source of inspiration for thousands of new soldiers and volunteers who joined the ranks of the KLA in their aftermath.

“Today we honor the Nation’s Martyrs who fell heroically 27 years ago in the village of Morinë, Gjakova. They were among the most emblematic fighters of the Kosovo Liberation Army. Their fall was a heavy blow to our just war, but their courage and sacrifice inspired thousands more to join the fight for freedom. Eternal glory to all those who gave their lives for the liberation of Kosovo,” Beqa wrote.

The commemoration comes at a time when the legacy of the Kosovo war continues to be remembered with reverence and gratitude, particularly in communities directly shaped by the events of the 1998–1999 conflict.
