The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has nominated Driton Selmanaj as its official candidate for mayor of Prizren in the upcoming local elections scheduled for October 12, 2025.
The announcement was made by the LDK branch in Prizren, which stated that Selmanaj will be officially presented on Wednesday, July 9, at 19:15 in Prizren. LDK party leader Lumir Abdixhiku is also expected to attend the event.
“We officially present the LDK candidate for Mayor of Prizren, Mr. Driton Selmanaj—a principled and committed figure, dedicated to fair and citizen-oriented governance,” the party said in its announcement.
The LDK called on supporters, party members, and citizens to participate in the event, describing it as a significant step forward for the city.
“Join us for a better Prizren, for a renewed vision and a new beginning based on integrity and commitment. Your presence gives strength to change,” the statement concluded.
Selmanaj currently serves as a Member of Parliament and has held various roles within LDK. His candidacy is part of the party’s broader effort to prepare for the local elections across the country.
