Last Friday, the Constitutional Court ruled on the situation in the Assembly, mandating that the vote for Assembly Speaker be conducted openly and that a single candidate may be proposed only up to three times. This ruling sparked numerous reactions, with the Vetëvendosje (VV) party members strongly criticizing the Court.
While many VV members attacked the Constitutional Court, party leader Albin Kurti remained silent, choosing not to comment on the verdict.
However, VV MP Arbëreshë Kryeziu-Hyseni offered a different perspective in an interview with TV1. She criticized the former opposition parties, stating that they were not interested in resolving the political blockade.
“As LVV, we have not been interested in participating in this blockade, which was created unnecessarily by opposition parties. I believe they are not interested in bringing solutions, despite the court’s ruling. I am convinced their stance will remain the same in the upcoming session — they will not participate in the vote,” Kryeziu-Hyseni said.
Regarding the court’s decision, she emphasized the need to return to open voting:
“So far, we have no different stance. We must return to open voting, and until now, our position remains as it was the last time. We will meet again before the session is scheduled to review the full ruling and act accordingly,” she added.
