U.S. President Donald Trump posted a four-minute message on his social network Truth, calling the killing of Charlie Kirk a “dark moment for America.” He expressed deep sorrow and anger over the incident, describing Kirk as a martyr for truth and freedom, a man who inspired millions, according to The Guardian.

Trump said:

“Our prayers are with his wife, Erika, his two young children, and the family he loved most. We ask God to protect them during this time of terrible grief.”

He blamed the radical left and the media for inciting hatred and violence against political opponents over the years. According to Trump, this demonizing rhetoric directly contributed to tragedies like Kirk’s death.

Trump added:

“It’s time for Americans and the media to recognize that violence and murder are the tragic consequences of daily demonization of those with whom they disagree. For years, the radical left has compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world’s worst criminals. This rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism we are seeing in our country and must stop now.”

He also recalled attacks on himself and Republican officials, promising that his administration will track down all involved in Charlie Kirk’s murder.

“Charlie was the best of America, and the monster who attacked him attacked our entire country,” Trump said.
