James Rubin is a prominent American diplomat and foreign policy expert with over 35 years of experience.
He currently serves as the Special Envoy and Coordinator at the U.S. State Department’s Global Engagement Center. Throughout his career, Rubin has held several high-level positions, including diplomatic adviser to the Secretary-General of the OECD, Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs, and spokesperson for Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
In 1999, Rubin played a key role as a special negotiator to secure the demobilization of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), marking one of the most important contributions of his career in the Balkans.
