In response to the violation of Estonian airspace, EU High Representative Kaja Kallas has issued a strong warning against Russia’s escalating provocations.

“It is clear that Russia is testing how far it can go,” Kallas said during a press conference in Brazil.

According to her, greater pressure must be applied to ensure Russia restrains itself and comes to the negotiating table.

“We had very intensive discussions about the international situation and Russia’s actions. Our appeal is also to countries that have closer relations with Russia – they must urge Moscow to stop this. From our side, we must not show weakness, because weakness only invites Russia to do more. And their actions are increasingly dangerous, not only for Ukraine but for all countries surrounding Russia. That is why our response must be stronger pressure, so that Russia seeks peace and sits down at the negotiation table to restrain itself,” Kallas stated.
