Today marks the second round of local elections in 18 municipalities across Kosovo.
The State Prosecutor’s Office announced that a total of 80 state prosecutors and officials from the prosecutorial system have been deployed throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process and ensure the protection of the free and democratic vote.
“In these elections, around 80 state prosecutors and prosecutorial system officials have been engaged and are on duty throughout the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo until the conclusion of the electoral process, with the aim of addressing any irregularities that may occur in this year’s local elections,” the statement reads.
Prosecutors are stationed in their respective offices within cities hosting Basic Prosecutions, while in municipalities without prosecutorial facilities, they are based in police stations, working in coordination with Kosovo Police investigators to ensure the protection of citizens’ free will at the polls.
