The candidate of the Guxo List for Mayor of South Mitrovica, Faton Peci, cast his vote today and called on citizens to go out in large numbers and exercise their right to vote.
While speaking to the media, Peci’s statement was briefly interrupted by loud cheers from nearby citizens. Maintaining composure, he paused and restarted his remarks, underlining the importance of calm and respect for the election silence.
“Today is a day of celebration — that’s how it should be understood by everyone. Municipal elections are important because they directly impact the lives and quality of life of the citizens of Mitrovica, and of all Kosovo’s municipalities,” Peci said.
He added that Kosovo has built a solid democratic standard in organizing elections, especially since 2014, and that this positive tradition should be strengthened by greater civic participation.
“My message is simple — come out in large numbers and vote. This is your right and your voice in shaping the future of our city and our country,” Peci concluded.
