President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, after casting her vote in today’s local elections held across 18 municipalities, addressed the media about the importance of the electoral process and its relation to national developments.

Asked whether these elections could influence central-level political dynamics, Osmani clarified that local and national processes are separate.

“Municipal elections do not affect the national processes we are currently going through. National processes are being conducted fully in line with the Constitution of the Republic, and we will see in the coming days how things unfold. What matters is that Kosovo demonstrates political maturity in every election,” Osmani stated.

She emphasized that, regardless of when national elections take place, they will once again prove Kosovo’s democratic strength.

“These local elections are not linked to national ones. However, whenever national elections are held — since that depends on the political parties represented in the Assembly — I am convinced they will further strengthen the fortress of democracy we’ve built over the years,” she added.
