Donika Gërvalla, one of the leaders of the Guxo party, described Sunday’s runoff election as an important test for the country’s democracy and a clear demonstration of free and fair elections, where, according to her, citizens spoke decisively.
She thanked the residents of South Mitrovica for voting for the joint candidate of the Vetëvendosje-Guxo-Alternativa coalition, Faton Peci, who emerged victorious in the second round yesterday.
“As co-chair of GUXO, Faton Peci has long demonstrated that citizens’ trust is earned through concrete work and consistency, and the results of the 2025 local elections confirm this fact with the strength of the citizen vote,” Gërvalla wrote.
She added that for Guxo, this electoral process represents a major step forward.
“We are building a modern, responsible party based on clear principles: reform, justice, equality, and putting the citizen at the center. Our journey continues with determination and a clear vision, and the energy we have gained from this process gives us double strength for the upcoming elections and for building a more open and democratic political scene,” she said.
Gërvalla emphasized that the trust they received will be translated into courageous decisions.
“In defense of the public interest, into honest politics that does not bow to blackmail, deals, or compromises with wrongdoing,” she wrote.
