A number of citizens gathered near the Counting Center in South Mitrovica on Tuesday evening, attempting to approach the facility. However, the Kosovo Police intervened and prevented them from getting close, instructing the group to leave the area.
Some citizens told KosovaPress off camera that they had come only to “see what was happening” and to observe the situation.
Gëzim Stavileci, former director of administration in the Municipality of South Mitrovica, appealed to citizens to disperse peacefully and to avoid creating any pressure on the ongoing process.
Following his appeal, the gathered individuals quietly left the scene.
Meanwhile, the re-counting of votes continues at the Counting Center in Mitrovica, following a decision by the Basic Prosecution Office of Mitrovica. The counting process had previously been suspended due to suspicions of vote manipulation.
