The Prishtina International Airport “Adem Jashari” is on track to conclude one of its most successful years ever, driven by a historic surge in passenger numbers, expanded routes, and newly completed infrastructure investments.

In August 2025, the airport handled over 500,000 passengers — the first time in its history that monthly traffic surpassed the half-million mark. According to Reporteri.net, passenger growth continued steadily throughout the following months.

Comparing October 2025 with the same month last year, the airport recorded an 8.75% increase, reaching 386,957 passengers. With 2,747 flights in October alone, Prishtina Airport is further consolidating its role as a key regional aviation hub.

To accommodate the rising number of travelers, the airport has launched a series of major infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving comfort and efficiency:

  • A new 17,200 m² parking area with capacity for over 750 vehicles was inaugurated two weeks ago.
  • A new baggage conveyor belt was added to reduce waiting times for arriving passengers.
  • Separate departure and arrival gates were introduced to increase comfort and streamline passenger flow during peak hours.
  • A new Unifree-Check Inn duty-free shop has opened in the arrivals hall.

The airport emphasized that these upgrades are designed to make every step of the passenger journey “faster, more comfortable, and more enjoyable.”

Additionally, procedures have been simplified through the introduction of self check-in kiosks, allowing passengers to complete the process in minutes — without queues, delays, or complications. The airport provides regular guidance through its official channels on how to use these systems.

The destination map has expanded, with direct flights now available to major European capitals, including Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Stockholm. Out of approximately 35 destinations, Switzerland remains among the most popular, followed by Germany, Turkey, Austria, and others.

On peak days, the airport handles up to 100 flights daily, with the busiest travel days being Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
