Tensions erupted in front of the Prime Minister’s Office in Albania during a protest organized by the opposition Democratic Party (PD).
Immediately after the speech by PD leader Sali Berisha, protesters clashed with police, throwing flares and Molotovs toward the government building.
The situation was managed by large police forces, which established a cordon around the Prime Minister’s Office, preventing direct clashes with protesters.
Berisha left the protest immediately after his speech, while protesters continued to remain in front of the government building, attempting at times to remove the metal barriers set up by police.
