Osmani Meets Landau: Focus on Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue and Strengthening Bilateral Partnership

President Vjosa Osmani met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau in Washington.

The Presidency announced that during the meeting, Osmani expressed the gratitude of the Kosovar people for President Donald Trump’s signing of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), highlighting U.S. support for Kosovo’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

She also acknowledged President Trump’s vision for a dialogue based on mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia, support for Kosovo’s NATO membership, and the increase of strategic economic investments.

“President Osmani also discussed recent developments, the regional security situation, and the importance of advancing the Kosovo–U.S. Strategic Dialogue, as a key platform for strengthening bilateral partnership and enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest,” the Presidency statement read.

During the meeting, the President raised the issue of flagrant violations of the rights of Albanians in Presevo, Medvegja, and Bujanovac by Serbia, requesting support from the Trump Administration on this matter.

Regarding Kosovo-Serbia relations, Osmani expressed gratitude for the clear policy of the Trump Administration that the dialogue should be based on mutual recognition, noting that dangerous ideas about border changes or partition have been excluded. She emphasized that this approach is essential to maintain peace and stability in the region.
