The Kosovo Police have drafted and begun implementing the operational order “Early Elections for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo”, with the aim of ensuring security and the smooth conduct of the electoral process.
According to the official announcement, two formal informational and coordination meetings were held on Friday at the General Directorate of the Kosovo Police, focusing on the planning, implementation, and coordination of this operational order.
The first meeting was held with regional directors and heads of police departments, while the second also included representatives from judicial institutions, the Central Election Commission (CEC), as well as other relevant local and international institutions.
The Director General of the Kosovo Police, Colonel Gazmend Hoxha, presented the preparations to date and police engagements throughout the election campaign, emphasizing that the process so far has been calm and without incidents. He called on all regional and central managers to exercise heightened oversight and ensure maximum engagement of police officers, with high professionalism and integrity, in order to successfully conclude this institutional process.
Subsequently, the Directorate for Operational Planning and Assessment presented the details of the operational order, including assigned duties, deployments, cooperation mechanisms, and coordination within police structures, as well as with other relevant institutions.
The Police reiterated their commitment to performing their legal duties and responsibilities in a professional, transparent, and impartial manner, in cooperation with local and international institutions, with the goal of guaranteeing the free and democratic exercise of the right to vote for all citizens.
In this context, the Kosovo Police have called on citizens to cooperate and report any suspicious cases or unlawful actions related to security or the electoral process via the emergency number 192, the email address [email protected], or at the nearest police station.
