The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, is in Israel for a two-day visit, which includes participation in the International Conference on Combating Antisemitism on Tuesday.
Israeli media report that Rama visited Jerusalem’s Old City earlier today, where he paid visits to the Western Wall and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. He is scheduled to hold a private meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later today.
The Times of Israel wrote that “Albania, which is approximately 50% Muslim, is one of Israel’s closest allies in Europe.”
During his visit, Rama will also be received at the Israeli Parliament (Knesset) and will meet with Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana.
A special session will be held at the Knesset, featuring speeches by Edi Rama, Benjamin Netanyahu, Amir Ohana, and opposition leader Yair Lapid.
