The European Union Council has approved a resolution to extend the mandate of its special representatives, including the EU Special Representative (EUSR) for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, Dane Peter Sørensen, who will now remain in the position until 2028.
According to the announcement:
“The mandate of Mr. Peter Sørensen as EUSR for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue has been extended for two years, until 29 February 2028. Mr. Sørensen was first appointed in January 2025.”
This extension underscores the EU’s continued commitment to supporting dialogue and normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, ensuring stability in the Western Balkans through sustained diplomatic engagement.
