On the anniversary of the birth of Kosovo Hero Skënder Rexhepi, family members, former comrades-in-arms, friends, activists, and citizens gathered in Mrasor to honor his life, work, and sacrifice for the country’s freedom.
The commemorative activities began with tributes and the laying of flowers at the hero’s bust, followed by a visit to the House-Museum, where attendees reflected on key moments from his life and wartime activities.
During the visit, former comrades and friends shared memories from the war period and highlighted the significant contribution Rexhepi made to the formation and strengthening of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).
Participants emphasized that his figure remains an important part of Kosovo’s history and that his legacy continues to live on through generations.
The commemoration took place in an atmosphere of respect and gratitude, reaffirming the ideals and commitment he held for the freedom of the country.
The event was also attended by Albanian General Sokol Poga, who is known to have had early contacts with KLA Commander Adem Jashari dating back to 1991. During his visit, he paid tribute to Rexhepi and signed the guest book at the House-Museum, leaving a message of respect for the contribution and sacrifice of freedom fighters.
