David Cohen, Deputy Director of the CIA, announced that Vladimir Putin is expected to launch a counteroffensive in an attempt to regain territory in the Kursk region from Ukrainian forces.
According to his claims, the decision to retake Kursk will be challenging for Russian forces, as Ukraine has built defensive lines in the area.
“We can be certain that Putin will undertake a counteroffensive to try to reclaim that territory. I think our expectation is that it will be a difficult fight for the Russians. Putin not only has to contend with the fact that there is a frontline within Russian territory that he will face, but he must also deal with the domestic backlash for the loss of part of Russian territory,” David Cohen told the media.
