Croatian MP Igor Peternel, deputy leader of the Croatian party Homeland and National Gathering (DOMiNO), has described Kosovo as a sovereign and independent state while sharply criticizing Serbia’s political scene.
“Kosovo is a sovereign and independent state!” Peternel declared, addressing Serbian politicians.
He also criticized what he described as a competition between nationalist forces in Serbia, saying: “In Serbia, you have Chetnikism competing against an even greater form of Chetnikism. They are all the same there!”
Peternel stressed that Croatia should maintain a firm stance toward Serbia and respond clearly to what he considers Serbian provocations.
His remarks reflect ongoing political tensions between Croatia and Serbia, particularly over regional relations, nationalism and the status of Kosovo.
