Donika Gërvalla, a newly elected MP from the Vetëvendosje Movement, stated that the secret ballot is foreseen by both the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly. She described it as the proper method to overcome the opposition’s blockade, which she claims is preventing the formation of the government for the tenth time.

Gërvalla accused the opposition of lacking internal agreement and deliberately prolonging the deadlock, possibly hoping for foreign intervention.

“We will now continue with the parliamentary group meeting to discuss today’s approach. The secret ballot is provided for by both the Constitution and the Assembly’s rules, and I see it as a very good way to bypass the opposition’s ongoing blockade for the tenth time today.”

“We already tried an open vote, and it didn’t succeed. Apparently, the opposition has not reached an internal agreement to form the government. If they believe Kurti cannot form a government, then they should act accordingly. But instead, they seem interested in extending the deadlock—surely hoping for help from outside, because there is no other explanation,” she emphasized.
