The latest meeting between Vetëvendosje leader Albin Kurti and LDK chairman Lumir Abdixhiku is underway, with the selection of Kosovo’s next president reportedly at the center of the discussions.

According to sources cited by Indeksonline, Haki Demolli is expected to be among the names discussed as a possible presidential candidate who could secure support from both political parties.

Demolli is reportedly backed by the LDK, while his previous political experience and profile are also said to be viewed positively by Kurti.

A senior figure within the LDK, Demolli previously served as Minister of Justice and Minister of the Kosovo Security Force (FSK). His possible candidacy could therefore represent an attempt to find common ground between the two parties amid ongoing efforts to reach an agreement on the presidency.

The Kurti–Abdixhiku meeting could prove crucial in determining whether Demolli can emerge as a compromise candidate and whether the two parties can secure the necessary political support for the election of Kosovo’s president.
