The Israeli military anticipates that Hamas will release six Israeli hostages from two separate locations in Gaza, starting at 9 a.m. local time, according to a defense official cited by The Times of Israel.
The release will begin in southern Gaza’s Rafah, followed by another group in Nuseirat, located in the central part of the Strip. However, the official noted that delays are possible.
According to reports, the six hostages will be handed over to the Red Cross before being transferred to Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) troops in Gaza. From there, they will be escorted to a military facility near Re’im for initial medical checks and reunions with family members before being airlifted to Sourasky and Rabin hospitals in central Israel.
Al Jazeera reports that two of the hostages are expected to be released in Rafah, while the remaining four will be freed in Nuseirat.
