Lutfi Haziri, a deputy from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), has clarified that his party has no personal issues with Albulena Haxhiu. Instead, the disagreement lies in the principle of imposing candidates. Haziri emphasized that LDK has previously voted for candidates from Vetëvendosje (LVV), even in the absence of political agreements, such as when they voted for Glauk Konjufca and abstained during the election of Vjosa Osmani as president.

“We voted for Glauk Konjufca without any agreement,” Haziri stated, while pointing out that the political climate created by LVV has not fostered trust.

He asserted that LDK will continue to oppose any imposition of candidates by Albin Kurti and LVV, stating that they cannot accept political pressure to support such proposals. Haziri added that the party will vote against every proposal unless there is genuine effort to build political partnerships, and that LVV should focus on securing the required 61 votes rather than relying on pressure tactics.

“They have taken a mandate to find solutions, not just options. We will vote against, and they need to make efforts to get 61 votes,” he concluded.
