The Constitutional Court of Kosovo has issued its judgment concerning the constitution of the Assembly, a case submitted by the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), also setting a deadline for the election of the President of Kosovo.
According to the Constitutional Court’s announcement, the Assembly of Kosovo was constituted after the deadline prescribed by the Constitution, while the election of the Government was not carried out in an unconstitutional manner.
The judgment also addresses the constitutional deadline for electing the President of Kosovo.
According to the ruling, the President must be elected by October 6.
If the President is not elected by that date, Acting President Albulena Haxhiu must call parliamentary elections within 45 days.
Based on this deadline, the elections would have to be held by November 15, as November 15 is the final Sunday falling within the constitutionally defined period.
