Italy’s embassy in Tehran will officially reopen on June 19, marking a significant step toward the restoration of diplomatic and economic activities between Italy and Iran.

The announcement was made by Italian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani during a parliamentary question session in the Italian Chamber of Deputies.

According to Tajani, Italian Ambassador Paola Amadei will return to Tehran together with diplomatic staff from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, restoring Italy’s institutional presence in Iran.

The reopening will also include the offices of the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), signaling efforts to gradually revive economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries.

The move comes amid broader diplomatic developments following the recently announced framework agreement between the United States and Iran, which aims to end hostilities and create conditions for renewed regional stability.

Italian officials view the reopening as an opportunity to strengthen diplomatic engagement and support future trade and investment links between Italy and Iran.
