Multinational soldiers from Regional Command West (RC-W), part of the NATO-led KFOR mission, have carried out a series of mountain marches across challenging terrain in Kosovo, including areas surrounding Camp Villaggio Italia.

According to the announcement, the training aimed to improve soldiers’ physical endurance and mobility in mountainous terrain, while strengthening cooperation and cohesion among RC-W’s multinational personnel.

KFOR stated that regular exercises in complex terrain are essential for maintaining personnel’s professional skills, operational readiness and situational awareness, enabling them to operate effectively throughout Kosovo.

The KFOR mission continues to carry out its mandate under United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244, adopted in 1999, contributing to a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all people living in Kosovo.

In fulfilling this mandate, KFOR operates impartially and in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), each acting within its respective responsibilities.
