The Deputy Leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Doarsa Kica-Xhelili, has called the statement made by LDK official Avdullah Hoti, requesting a change in the party leadership, “laughable.”

She stated to KOHË that the structures of LDK have given, and continue to give, full support to Lumir Abdixhiku as the party leader, adding that he “turned it into the largest historic trend of growth.”

“As the Deputy Leader of LDK, I declare that this is a laughable request. The structures of LDK have given, and continue to give, full support to the current party leader, who took the party from the lowest historical point at 12% and turned it into the largest historical trend of growth (with a 70% increase),” she said on Tuesday.

Hoti had stated that the party needs new leadership, expressing that in the last four years, the current leadership has been engaged in restructuring the party at the branch level, but added that “in many cases, this has been done selectively.”

He mentioned that the electoral result of LDK was neither satisfactory nor close to what was hoped for “after four years of preparation.”
