The acting government of Kosovo and the government of North Macedonia will inaugurate the joint border crossing “Hani i Elezit – Blace” today.

The ceremony will begin shortly within the territory of North Macedonia.

According to footage obtained by IndeksOnline, preparations for the start of the ceremony are nearly complete.

The Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, will also be present at the ceremony.

During the ceremony, there may be delays in traffic at this border point, as reported by the National Center for Border Management yesterday.

“On this occasion, all citizens planning to use this border crossing are informed that from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, there will be delays in traffic,” the announcement stated.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia, Panče Toshkovski, had announced in February that the operation of the joint border control system, known as “One Stop Shop,” at the Blace border point, which connects North Macedonia with Kosovo, would begin in April of this year.

According to Toshkovski, this system will simplify border procedures, allowing citizens of both countries to be inspected by a single customs officer, reducing “waiting times and easing the border crossing between the two countries.”
